Polycom soundstation 2 external microphones not working. Hello all, we have a new polycom soundstation with 2 external microphone extensions. The two external mic's for a SoundStation 2 Ex are not appearing to work. If your mute button has not been pressed, it is likely that there is an issue with one or more of your microphones.
The main unit is not currently powered POE but just plugs in using the power supply provided. View solution in original post. The main unit is great and we love it.

Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosol cleaners. The Microphones for the SS2W are not Compatible with the Microphones for the SS2. I have a soundstation IP 7000 with external microphones, but they don't work at all.
The SSW mics are made for the SS2W and do not work with a SoundSation 2. Is there any configuration setup that we need to do to enable the Mic's?. Speak at a normal conversa-tion level, and direct your voice towards the SoundStation2, or towards the extended micro-phone.

The Microphones don't have any lights on The microphones don't pick up sound even in the device diagnostic test. We don't have any manual for usage of these mic's beyond where they are supposed to connect. The microphones work and if i push the mute button the LED on the Soundstation will go to RED and unmute they got to Green.
If this is the case, you will need to open up your phone and replace the microphones. Is there an ex mic user's manual?. Do not shuf e papers near the SoundStation2.
